Since their arrival in 2012, the Calgary Zoo’s penguins have become one of the biggest attractions in town. Once again this winter, you can see the penguins outside of their usual habitat, as they parade around the zoo grounds!
Each day that conditions allow, the zoo’s King Penguins will take a short stroll outside their building, starting at 11 am daily. The birds will begin their public walks in front of the Penguin Plunge building and continue down to the Discovery Trail Bridge before looping back up to their habitat.
This engaging experience is your big chance to get close to a real-life March of the Penguins. The walks are dependent on the birds’ desire to join in and could be cancelled if the weather drops to below -25°C, raises above 5°C or if the conditions are too windy. If you’re in doubt, please check in at the Calgary Zoo’s Facebook Page or call the zoo at 403-232-9300 before you go!
