Look to the skies for an exciting day! With breathtaking aerial displays and lots to explore on the ground, you won’t want to miss the Red Deer Regional Airshow. It’s a day to celebrate a commitment to aviation excellence. Plus, it’s a chance to make great summer memories with an easy day trip from Calgary!

From July 24 – 26, 2026, families can head to the Red Deer Regional Airport. Friday evening (July 24, 2026) will open the weekend, with glowing hot air balloons, food trucks, beer gardens, and music. The main event is Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM – 4:30 PM. Check out the static displays, a car show, and family activities all day. All the excitement overhead takes place from 11 AM – 4 PM.

The Airshow will feature the CF-18 Hornet demo, the historic Harvard, the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks Parachute Team, and lots more. It’s also a chance to catch one of the last performances of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds! As announced in the spring of 2026, the iconic Snowbirds will no longer fly the CT-114 Tutor aircraft, marking the end of an era. For 55 years, the Snowbirds have amazed audiences with their precision and skill. You won’t want to miss the show for their final season.

A day at the Airshow is packed with excitement and action, but a little planning goes a long way! Alberta’s weather is unpredictable, so be sure to pack accordingly. A blanket or chairs to sit on will make viewing the show more comfortable. You may also want to consider ear protection, especially for young children. There will be a wide variety of food trucks on-site, but you are welcome to bring snacks in a small soft-sided cooler. Don’t forget a refillable water bottle.

Mark your calendars for an amazing day of defying gravity!
