Head out to Airdrie for the city’s annual Festival of Lights from December 1st to 31st. The event features beautiful Christmas lights and lots of things to do, like miniature train rides, hot chocolate, bonfires, and Santa’s Gift Shop for kids. Santa visits on selected dates; check the calendar to see exactly what nights he’ll be joining in the fun, plus other special events that happen during the festival!
This is a volunteer-run event, so if you have a little spare time and want to spend it in a happy, festive environment – check out their volunteer opportunities!
Nose Creek Pond is located within the festival area and is a great place to skate outdoors when conditions permit. Don’t forget to check out the Christmas Eve Carols Around the Campfire!
Donations are welcome.
New Year’s Eve
December 31st is the last night to enjoy the beautiful holiday light displays in Nose Creek Park. Normally, there would be a DJ dance party and a whole lot of family fun inside the heated tent. This is all in addition to the miniature train rides, hot chocolate, fire pits and lovely lights! Fireworks take place at 6:30 pm in Ed Eggerer Park, then you can head straight over to Nose Creek Park afterwards! But details have not been released for 2020, so watch for updates here.
