Heritage Park Canada Day (Family Fun Calgary)

On Canada Day, Heritage Park is offering a jam-packed day of activities, events, entertainment from around the world, and lots of family fun! Here are some of the highlights you can plan on. How many can you fit into your day?

Rhythm of the Rockies | Gasoline Alley Museum – Mezzanine
Get yourself moving first thing in the morning, with this savvy choral group performing from 9:30 – 10 am. They will also be performing on Front Street (Rain day location: Chautauqua Tent) at 11:30 am and 1 pm.

Citizenship Ceremony | Gasoline Alley Mezzanine
People from around the world come to our country and you can witness 50 immigrants become new Canadians at 10 am! Everyone is welcome and there will be a reception following the ceremony. (Please note the attendees will be asked to remove their hats during the ceremony.)

Nifty Fifty’s Ford Club | Outside Celebration Tent
Take in the shiny chrome, sparkling paint, and sweet rims on these antique automotive beauties!

Indigenous Performers | Didsbury Bandstand
Enjoy Indigenous dancing with Clarence Woflleg Jr. from 10 – 11 am.

Chinook Country Line Dancers | Heritage Plaza (Rain day location: Celebration Tent)
Yahoo! Take in this award-winning, boot-scootin’ ladies’ dance group from 9:30 – 10:30 am. They will also be performing on Front Street (Rain day location: Chautauqua Tent) from 12 – 1 pm.

GlobalFest Performance | Didsbury Bandstand (Rain day location: Celebration Tent)
Enjoy sensational cultural performances, featuring traditional music and dance. Each set will be 30 minutes.
11 am: Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park – Hoop Dancer and Peach Plum Art Academy
12 pm: Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park – Hoop Dancer and Philippines – FilCan Society for the Arts & Culture Alberta
1 pm: Azerbaijan – Azeri Calgary Stars and Thailand – Calgary Classical Thai Dance Group
2 pm: Brazilian Community Association of Alberta and Thailand – Calgary Classical Thai Dance Group
3 pm: Pakistan – Mohana and Iran – Hymmmelodies

Immerse yourself in the sound of pipes from 11:30 am – 12 pm.

Indigenous Games and Hand Games | First Nations Encampment
From 12 – 3 pm, play Indigenous games and hand games with Jason Plain Eagle and Sheldon First Rider.

Classic Games | Outside Celebration Tent
How fast are you? Challenge your kids to an egg-in-spoon race, a three-legged race, and other traditional games from 11 am – 5 pm.

Heritage Park Historical Village is a living history museum with something for everyone.
