From January 30 – February 16, 2026, Chinook Blast will be heating up our city with a celebration of community, culture, and civic pride. Make a plan to explore Calgary’s art, music, theatre, sports, and recreation, and enjoy the season with your family.
NEW for 2026: Chinook Blast will transform Eau Claire Plaza into a vibrant hub of light and art displays, performances, family-friendly fun, and delicious food. Bring your skates to take a spin around Prince’s Island Lagoon and then warm up by the firepits. With FREE admission to the Plaza, it’s the best way to celebrate winter.
As part of Chinook Blast, celebrate the Lunar New Year with ImaginAsian Showcase. On February 13, 2026, from 6 – 10 PM, head to the RISE UP Stage for a cultural celebration, complete with singing, drumming, and dancing. You can also check out these other events for more winter fun in 2026. We will be adding to this as the events get announced.
