It’s warm. It’s cheerful. It’s the cozy Hygge Hut in East Village! The East Village Hygge Hut will be open on Riverwalk, every weekend, with firepits ready to welcome you and live music on Friday nights. The contemporary, Scandinavian-style space is inspired by the Danish idea of Hygge, a cozy, easy togetherness.
The Hygge Hut is even better after you ski the East Village Nordic Loop! This 1-km groomed cross-country ski loop is on Fort Calgary land, is free to use, and is the perfect way to get out and enjoy winter in the city!
On February 3, 2024, be sure to stop by Nordic at Night. This special event runs from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in celebration of Chinook Blast — the East Village Nordic Loop will become a glowing, cross-country ski party for all ages! There will be roving performers and music, plus hot beverages. At the East Village entrance (6th Street and 8th Avenue SE) there will be a limited number of free ski rentals, courtesy of Lifesport, on a first-come, first-served basis.
