It’s warm. It’s cheerful. It’s the bigger, better, and cozier than ever Hygge Hut in East Village!

On 4 St SE and 7 Ave SE, neighboured by the C-train track, the East Village Hygge Hut will be open every weekend, Friday – Sunday, and have the firepits ready to welcome you. You’ll know you’re in the right place when the familiar smell of campfire hits your nose and gives you all the camping and nature feels without having to leave the city. The contemporary, Scandinavian-style space is inspired by the Danish idea of Hygge, which means a special kind of well-being—it’s a cozy, easy togetherness.

You’ll find weekly interactive live ice carving demonstrations, pop-up food trucks, hot chocolate, fireside winter storytime, community dog walks, live music, a pop-up Christmas tree lot, and no shortage of good company! See the event schedule HERE and warm up this winter!

While you’re in the neighbourhood, pop over to St Patrick’s Island for a little curling! This pop-up curling rink is by Confluence Plaza, near the island washrooms and Calgary Zoo parking lot, and is open from 8 am to 6 pm. Or check out the East Village Nordic Loop, a free 1km groomed trail open to people of all abilities.
