It’s the spooky season and it’s time for some Halloween fun! It’s even better when that fun is free, so 17th Ave is calling all guys, gals, and ghouls to come and enjoy an afternoon in Tomkins Park on October 29, 2022. They’re planning loads of Halloween-themed activities, and with fun for everyone from the little ones to the adults, your family will enjoy a memorable day.
This family-friendly day has music, entertainers, games, and terrific photo opportunities. Oh, yes, and don’t forget the trick-or-treating for the kids! It all kicks off at 2 pm with a special Halloween-themed performance from the Fermented Beet Orchestra and you’ll also enjoy the spooky circus performers until 4 pm. Deicha & the VuDudes, an eight-piece funk and soul band, will be covering some of your favourite spooky classics at 6 pm. (From 6 – 8 pm, the performance will be geared towards a more adult audience, however, kids are still welcome.)
Through it all, Fotovon will also be on-site from 2 to 6 pm to get some epic Halloween pictures and there will be ghoulish (but family-friendly!) games. Of course, the best part for the kiddos will be the trick-or-treating at participating 17th Ave businesses! You can find the map of trick-or-treating locations here.
There’s always plenty to do on 17th Ave, so you might want to leave some time to stop into some of the amazing nearby businesses, too. Free family-friendly fun, spooky surprises, candy, and live entertainment? It’s good ol’ Halloween fun to remember on 17th Ave! Dress in your favourite costumes, enjoy the celebration, and have a spooktacular season.
The 17th Ave BIA is located on 17th Ave between 2nd Street SW and 16th Street SW and represents over 700 diverse businesses, with local eats, shopping, health and wellness services, and more. On behalf of its members, the 17th Ave BIA will advocate, promote, and market community events, network and build community, and develop and beautify the public realm.
