Anyone who has a child (or children) who wears glasses knows that it can be awfully expensive. Either they break, or get misplaced, or their prescription changes! The Real Canadian Superstore wants to help. Kids ages 4 – 10 receive a complete pair of FREE glasses once a year on select frames.
Eye exams can be done at Superstore Optical locations or parents may bring in a recent prescription from another registered optometrist. And there is no end date, so you can take part in this program whenever you like! Terms and conditions may apply, so visit your nearest Superstore optical for the full details.

This used to be a wonderful program. It is no longer available in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Superstore informs us here, that the promotion “may” be offered once a year now around school time, but no guarantees. I don’t know if this is the same at all locations or not.
Why is it not showing all the provinces — is this a glitch? Is this available in Eastern Canada??
Does not show any eastern provinces.
Thank you for what you Have offered
What about a really strong prescription can we get the lenses that aren’t thick? So the lenses are really thin?
For families that truelly cant afford glasses this is amazing! I will be looking into this tomorrow i know a kid that would be glad 2 just not have tap on hers too see
It would be nice to see that spread a little further across Canada! Believe it or not, we are a small part, but way out on the East Coast. This is not offered here. It seems too be going round here!
It is offered on the East Coast!
The east coast is not listed as one of the participating provinces. 🙁
Is this only in Calgary or Winnipeg too?
Hm, sorry, I don’t know.
How come it’s only up to 10 years of age why not 12 ?
Yes! I have a 13 year old that I would like glasses for.
This is a great program and thanks to it we got a free pair of basic glasses. Some may prefer high end frames or special coating but that is always extra.
This is a great program for young kids! Have used it for our kids and about to use it again soon!
Free glasses? Lol I’d hardly call them free. Having to pay for the frames and special protective coating is NOT considered free . False advertising. I’m not impressed.
Thanks for your comment – it allows us to add a clarification! As with everything, there is a limit to free. They do clearly state that select frames are free, along with basic lenses. If you choose a more expensive frame (over $49) or to have coatings put on, then yes, you have to pay the extra. I’ve had free glasses from a certain online retailer, but I’ve paid for the coatings myself. vm/ed
