There’s only one place in Calgary where you can take your little ones out for safe Halloween fun, have a ghostly good time, and meet the haunted spirits of the past! Ghouls’ Night Out at Heritage Park is one of the city’s most beloved Halloween traditions and this year you’ll find loads of spooktacular new activities, spine-tingling street theatre, and monster meet-and-greets for all your family Halloween excitement.
If you’re trying to conjure up Halloween spirits – I mean, spirit – Heritage Park will be transformed to help your family enjoy freaky family fun. Ghouls’ Night Out, from October 28 – 30, 2022, is a memorable way to spend time together and it’s a terrific reason for the whole family to get dressed up! This event is geared toward families, so it’s not too spooky for young children, either.
Family Fun for Everyone
There is SO much going on at Ghouls’ Night Out! You can check out a magic show, a haunted house, or a Mad Science show. Watch the street theatre performances with classic Halloween characters, see some ghostbusting, and meet the Addams’ Family. Get your picture taken at the monster meet-and-greets, and discover the Further Adventures of Dr. Frankenstein and the Monster.
Of course, there are many other activities, with pumpkin ring toss, crafts, and carnival games. Take a spooky stroll down the park’s well-decorated streets, meet the ghoulish residents of the village, and attend the Sanderson Sisters Flying Academy. And don’t forget to travel down the rabbit hole for a wonderfully weird tea party with Alice and her friends or try your hand at a monster-sized version of Operation!
Eats and Treats
There will be no trick-or-treating at Ghouls’ Night Out, but that doesn’t mean your sweet tooth won’t be satisfied! One of the activities kids love is decorating their own Halloween cookies (extra fee). Be sure to leave time to stop by the Cacking Candy Store, the NEW I Scream Parlour, and the Trick or Treatery for all your sugary needs! You can also find something great to eat at the Boo-Loungerie, the Bat Saloon, and the Wizard’s Wand Café.
Ghouls’ Night Out takes place mostly outdoors, so dress for the weather with warm layers, hats, and mittens (as well as your Halloween costume, of course!). Wear comfortable footwear and feel free to bring a stroller or wagon to help little ones get around, as there is a lot of ground to cover. There will be tons of photo opportunities to capture memories of your little ghouls and don’t forget to bring a flashlight to help you find your way once it gets dark!
Tickets to this wildly popular event are $19.95 for Old Spirits (anyone aged 16+) and $14.99 for Little Ghouls (aged 3 to 15). Children 2 and under get in free. But buy your tickets soon, because this event will only run for three nights and will likely sell out!
Start planning your costume and get ready for a ghostly good time!
