Fall is fleeting in Calgary, so you have to make the most of the season! Two of the season’s most iconic symbols are a nice big pumpkin and a juicy cob of corn, so here are the best places in Calgary to find your favourite pumpkin or challenge yourself with a journey through a corn maze. Plus, these are great places to plan some amazing photos!

Featured: Butterfield Acres Harvest Pumpkin Fest
As the leaves change colour and the air turns brisk, pull out the cozy sweaters and head outside to the farm. The Butterfield Acres Harvest Pumpkin Fest, taking place every weekend in October, is the perfect fall outing for young families. Visit the farm animals, search for the perfect pumpkin, and take a moment to enjoy fall foliage and family fun!

Bowden SunMaze
This isn’t a corn maze — but it’s better! Home to a sunflower maze – grown from 100,000 sunflowers! – the Bowden SunMaze also features u-pick flowers, veggies and pumpkins, farm animals, and a shaded play area. Concerned about the weather and the state of the various crops? These folks are great about keeping their fans updated on their Facebook page. Located 1 hour north of Calgary, near Bowden (map), the SunMaze is open from August to September (The SunMaze normally closes early to mid-September.) At certain times, they have extended hours for amazing sunset pictures. Be sure to check for tickets ahead of time; tickets are only available 3 or 4 days beforehand.

Calgary Farmyard
The Calgary Farmyard boasts a pumpkin patch in the fall, a giant corn maze, a petting zoo, mini-golf, bouncers, a tractor train and more! Be sure to plan at least one visit during the farm’s Fall Days (weekends in October, plus Thanksgiving Monday), when they have extra pumpkin-themed fun planned. The Farmyard also gets lit up for Harvest Lights, when you can also get lost – and hopefully found – in the corn maze, which will be the only section left unlit!

Cobb’s Adventure Park
Cobb’s Adventure Park is home to a variety of activities, like the Kangaroo Petting Zoo, pedal carts, outdoor games, a giant slide, tractor rides, blacklight mini-golf, and lots more. You can wander through the pumpkin patch for Pumpkin Palooza in October and check out Field of Screams for Halloween.

Granary Road
If you drive a short distance south of Calgary, through picturesque, rolling foothills, you’ll soon find Granary Road. Families love it for the epic Active Learning Park, home to cool themed exhibits and interactive experiences. The Yesteryear Mini Golf offers timeless fun, and families will love the new Indoor Discovery Centre. In the fall, don’t miss the Harvest Fair! The Granary Road Harvest Fair is a family-friendly event that features the popular Pumpkin Hunt. Each ticket includes All-Access Admission, a scenic tractor ride, and a pumpkin to take home.

The Saskatoon Farm
The Saskatoon Farm, just outside of Okotoks, is a farm fun destination. Depending on the time of year, you can come to pick your own saskatoons, sour cherries, and currants. But you’ll also find greenhouses, a gift shop, a restaurant, and a seasonal farmers market! New in 2025, the Saskatoon Farm held a Harvest Market, with an opportunity to purchase pumpkins.
