All kids are special, but some of them need a little extra help to get off to a great start in life. Do you have (or know a family with) a young child who has special needs? If so, be sure to investigate the ECS (Early Childhood Services) programs offered by Pacekids!

The Pacekids Program provides tailored, adaptive early childhood education for children with special needs at two Calgary locations: one in the south (5211 MacLeod Trail S) and one in the north (808 55th Avenue NE).  The Pacekids team, comprised of early childhood educators, preschool teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, behavioural strategists, psychologists, aides and a dedicated support team, work closely with the children to support them in their development.

And because life goes on outside the doors, the Pacekids team also provides strategies, skills and information to every client’s family, so that the whole family can work together to successfully meet every-day and long-term challenges.

Pacekids is an approved designated site for ECS status for Program Unit Funding (PUF) from Alberta Education. Pacekids currently offers two separate ECS programs:

  • Multidisciplinary ECS Program: a multidisciplinary approach for children with needs in several areas of development. This program is offered to children aged 2 to 6 1/2 years old and includes preschool and kindergarten.
  • Speech and Language Enhancement Program (SLE): specifically for children who primarily have speech and language difficulties.
