Family fun, learning something new, and spending time together—sounds like just the Family Day we need! Discover Canada’s military history and join The Military Museums this Family Day with special activities for all ages.
The Military Museums is dedicated to representing Canada’s Army, Air Force, and Navy and educating the public, particularly young people, about Canada’s military. You’ll hear the stories of the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces through their tragedies, sacrifices, and victories. This award-winning facility is home to seven museums, an art gallery, and a world-class public lending library. It is the second-largest military museum in the country.
The Military Museums Family Day
Visiting The Military Museums is exploring Canada’s military past and present. Discover a First World War trench, learn about two of Canada’s famed tank units, and hear the story behind Canada’s victory at Vimy. Kids can get up close with a real tank and a fighter jet and imagine the world beyond their backyard.
Besides seeing authentic armoured vehicles, fighter planes, weapons, and one-of-a-kind artifacts, The Military Museums is bringing you extra Family Day fun this year, with engaging and interactive experiences. Wondering what to expect? Check out a book launch and RCAF pilot talks with real pilots, or explore your own family’s history. Throughout the day, families will also enjoy:
- Weapons handling
- Rations Tasting
- Pilot Talks
- Black powder rifle demonstration
- Hands-on history station
- Wargaming sessions
So, what are you doing for Family Day? Join The Military Museums for a day spent learning and playing together through hands-on history!
