Edmonton Humane Society Summer Camps

Edmonton Humane Society Summer Camps are the purr-fect way for animal lovers to spend the dog days of summer! Registration is now open for week-long camps in July and August that offer young pet fanatics the opportunity to learn to be more caring companions for the animals they adore.

Campers ages 6-12 will be introduced to a variety of animals, gain a better understanding of animal training and behaviour, explore veterinary work, and get a glimpse behind the scenes at the Edmonton Humane Society. Each camp day will be filled with a wide range of activities, including crafts, games, and fun with new friends – on two legs and four!

Some of the fun activities to look forward to at EHS Summer Camp include:

Behind the Scenes Shelter Tour: Discover the shelter’s inner workings, including a visit to where the animals begin their journey and the chance to witness medical care and surgery.
Adoption Gallery Visit: Interact with dogs, small animals, and cats in the Adoption Gallery awaiting loving homes. Animal interactions are dependent on the current shelter population and cannot be guaranteed.
Crafting Sessions: Get creative, crafting enrichment toys for the shelter residents and animal-themed keepsakes to bring home.
Canine Enrichment Center Exploration: Explore the Canine Enrichment Center to learn more about the exciting world of canine agility training.
Compassionate Animal Interaction Presentation: Learn kindness and respect towards all creatures with this brief presentation on compassionate animal interaction.
Commemorative T-shirt: Receive a special camp t-shirt as a memento of your camp experience.

Edmonton Humane Society offers 9 camps throughout the summer break. They are ideal for children entering Grades 1 through 6 in the fall, with activities tailored to different ages. Camps will run weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm, with the convenience of an additional half hour before and after camp for drop-off and pick-up.
