For over 20 years, this popular summer festival has brought some of the world’s best jazz talent to Edmonton with special concerts, interactive workshops, and unique musical collaborations. The festival is proudly hosted by The Edmonton Jazz Festival Society. Through this amazing annual event, the EJFS seeks to connect people through music and promote the development and enjoyment of jazz music in Edmonton. On the closing Sunday afternoon of JazzFest, join the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra and members of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at Edmonton’s world-renowned concert hall, Winspear Centre, for a lively afternoon of jazz standards and selections from three-time JUNO award-winning singer Caity Gyorgy’s new orchestral album, conducted by Kent Sangster and Mark Limacher. Caity is an acclaimed vocalist and celebrated songwriter, crafting music and lyrics inspired by the Great American Songbook. She will join over 30 musicians on stage for timeless jazz classics and selections from her album, “Caity Gyorgy with Strings”. This event has become a favourite festival tradition for families and a must-see for music lovers, blending jazz energy with the rich sound of live strings. It’s a celebration for all ages, featuring classics like “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “In the Mood,” and more.
Edmonton International Jazz Festival will feature both free and ticketed events at a variety of popular downtown Edmonton venues like the Yardbird Suite, Varscona Theatre, Bellamy’s Lounge at Chateau Lacombe, La Cité Francophone, and the Winspear Centre.
