The Edmonton Riverboat | Opens May 6
The Edmonton Riverboat hits the water this May for its 31st season! Book your tickets now for a relaxing cruise down the North Saskatchewan while enjoying a delightful meal. You can also treat mom to Mother’s Day Brunch on the river, May 9 & 10, 2026.
University of Alberta Botanic Garden | Opens May 8
There’s no better place to stop and smell the flowers than this 240-acre natural oasis outside Devon. Discover the impressive limestone and granite reflecting pools of the Aga Khan Garden, or find your serenity as you stroll around the koi-filled pond in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden. They will also be having an exciting Mother’s Day event on May 10, 2026.

Sassy G’s Adventure Farm offers a bit of everything, including an animal viewing zoo, toddler play areas, jumping pillows, obstacle courses and throwing games. Edmonton Streetcars High Level Bridge Line | Opens May 15
Take a ride on the High Level Bridge Streetcar! This unique experience takes you in a fully restored streetcar from Edmonton’s historic Old Strathcona area, through the only tunnel ever built on a CPR mainline in Alberta, and up high across the High Level Bridge into Edmonton’s Downtown.

Alberta Railway Museum | Opens May 16
Experience a glimpse into the past in a fun, hands-on, and interactive way with over 75 cars and locomotives on site, many of which you can walk through and explore. Learn more through the archives of railway history, see examples of railway maintenance of way equipment, and take a ride on a vintage train or speeders.
St. Albert Historic River Lots + Grain Elevators | Opens May 16

Snow Valley Aerial Park | Opens May 29
The spectacular Aerial Park tower is 15 m high and offers over 100 elements for climbers to crawl, swing and step through. While there, you may also want to let the kids dig for gems and fossils at the Whitemud Creek Mining Co., or take a swing at a round of Snow Valley Target Golf.
Jurassic Forest | Opens April 29
Take the kids on a prehistoric adventure just outside Gibbons! Dino-lovers of ALL ages will love this forested walk filled with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. Plus, there’s a fantastic playground, cafe, and dinosaur-themed minigolf to enjoy on site.
Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village | Opens May 16
Step into the past as costumed interpreters bring history to life at this open-air museum. Listen to the authentic stories of early settlers in east central Alberta, and discover how Ukrainian immigration influenced the province’s cultural identity and heritage.
Discovery Wildlife Park | Opens May 1
Visit Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail to walk with a wolf, take a photo with a bear, and watch cougars up close. There are plenty of other activities and chances to see wildlife. Explore the giant moving dinosaurs and let your kids have fun on the unique play structures. You can even stay overnight and camp!

One of our favourite spots to cool off is the waterpark at the Abbey Centre in Blackfalds. None of the outdoor pools within Edmonton compare to this impressive offering of 2 three-story high waterslides, a spray park with tot slides, a zero-depth entry pool with beach features, and a Jr. Olympic pool with a 10-foot climbing wall!
