Late Summer and early Autumn are also the best time of year to catch the sunflowers and corn mazes in bloom, enjoy a visit to a local farmyard, or take advantage of local farms opening up their doors to the public during Alberta Open Farm Days! Country Fairs & Harvest Festivals
Leduc West Antique Society Fall Harvest Show
September 7 & 8 | This country celebration will feature farming demonstrations, tours of the historic buildings and vehicle displays, kids activities, the Provincial Tractor Pull Championships, and a Saturday evening concert event.
Harvest of the Past at the Ukrainian Village
September 7 | It’s the final event of the season at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. This exciting Harvest Festival allows you to experience the best of autumn from days gone by as you explore the village, see an old-fashioned threshing bee, and watch costumed interpreters give demos all about farming in the olden days.
Woodbend Country Fair
September 8 | Join the fun at the Woodbend Country Fair on Sunday, September 8, 2024! The FREE event will include an inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castles, games, balloon art, hot dogs, popcorn, and slush.
Harvest Gathering at Greenland Garden Centre
September 8 | Bring the whole family to Greenland for an afternoon full of good, old-fashioned fun. Enjoy hayride, corn on the cob, roasted marshmallows, kids’ activities, pumpkin carving demonstrations, and more. Some activities cost $2 in support of ‘A Safe Place’ Women’s Shelter.
Arts & Heritage St. Albert Harvest Festival
September 21 | Summer is winding down, the cooler days of fall are coming, and all the fresh food is coming in from the garden! Celebrate the harvest season with Arts and Heritage St. Albert. This afternoon of free family fun will include tours of the historic homes and grain elevators, a petting zoo, face painting, heritage crafts, live entertainment, and more!
Stony Plain & Parkland Pioneer Museum Harvest Festival
September 21 | See threshing and blacksmithing the way they used to do it with vintage machinery. The day includes plenty of fun for all ages, including gold panning, old time games, animals, a tractor/vehicle parade, mini train rides, live music, and delicious treats for purchase at the on-site Tea House.
Salisbury Greenhouse Harvest Festival
September 21 (Sherwood Park) & 22 (St. Albert) | Both Salisbury Greenhouse locations will host their own day of fun with trackless train rides, balloon twisting, roaming magicians, carnival games, pumpkin painting, a market, and more. Don’t forget your donation for local food banks.
Kiwi Nurseries Pumpkin Festival
September 28 | Enjoy a day of Autumn fun at the Kiwi Nurseries Pumpkin Festiva! Admission is just $10/participating child and includes face painting, pumpkin bowling, crafts, outdoor games, plus apple cider and a free carving pumpkin to take home. Pick your own pumpkin out from the patch and be on the lookout for the golden pumpkin to win a special prize!
