Grab your teens, pack your blankets and head to the Halifax Public Gardens this July to enjoy a movie under the stars!

Every Friday in July you can get cozy with family members and enjoy a different outdoor movie. Upcoming screenings include a collection of work from Sarah Polley, Canadian author, activist, acclaimed actor and director.  These films are recommended for teens, but please keep an eye on the content rating system for each movie, as parental guidance may be suggested.

All four films start at dusk and gates will open one hour prior to each screening. Be sure to watch the weather forecast, as rain could put a damper on your plans. If everything looks clear, be sure to save some room for delicious treats because concessions will be available on site.

Upcoming screenings include:

Friday, July 8: My Life Without Me, 2003, 106min (Rated 14A)
Friday, July 15: Away From Her, 2006, 100min (Rated PG)
Friday, July 22: Take This Waltz, 2011, 116min (Rated 18A)
Friday, July 29: Stories We Tell, 2012, 90min (Rated PG)
