Celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, Halifax Dance has been a prominent and highly regarded institution in the field of dance education. As a registered charity, they have made significant contributions to our region’s artistic community, providing exceptional training and education. Registration is now open for 2023/2024 Halifax Dance lessons, and with a wide variety of classes available for children of all ages and skill levels, Halifax Dance offers an exceptional dance program that focuses on nurturing talent and fostering a love for dance.
Fall registration for returning members begins May 6th, while new members can register starting from May 15th. Whether your child is just beginning their dance journey or is an experienced dancer looking to refine their skills, Halifax Dance offers a diverse range of classes to meet every dancer’s needs.
Youth Classes
The youth classes at Halifax Dance are carefully structured to provide students with outstanding training in a caring and nurturing environment. The program is designed to develop each student’s artistry, musicality, creativity, and natural abilities while instilling strong technique and joy for dance. Led by inspiring professional dance instructors, the youth classes ensure that young dancers receive the guidance and support they need to grow and excel in their dance journey. Classes include training in ballet, jazz, break dancing, creative movement and more. You can even start your children’s love of dance early with their baby and me program!
Teen Classes
For teenagers who are passionate about dance, Halifax Dance offers a dedicated Teen Program. Starting at 13 years of age, students in the Teen Program are encouraged to pursue their dance studies through Junior High and High School, allowing them to hone their craft and stay physically active. The program not only focuses on dance technique but also fosters self-esteem, a healthy competitive spirit, and provides an outlet for artistic expression.

For young dancers aged 8 and up seeking intensive training, Halifax Dance’s Intensive Training Program (ITP) is ideal. Tailored for serious dancers, it provides focused and concentrated dance education with exceptional training and performance opportunities, nurturing talented individuals in their artistic development.
