So another year is upon us and as we welcome 2023, we can look forward to a new chapter of family fun and making memories with the ones we love. Any month that starts off with a holiday is destined to be a great one… and we have lots of great events going on this month for the whole family to enjoy. Bundle up and get ready for 2023!

Hatfield Farm Family Roundup (January and beyond): Looking for some outdoor family fun to start off the New Year? Head to Hatfield Farm for a wagon or sleigh ride adventure into the woods, with 2 departures daily at 11 am and 1 pm.

The World Juniors & Fan Fest in Halifax ( December 26- January 5):Who is ready for some world-class hockey? The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship is taking in place Dec. 26, 2022, to Jan. 5, 2023 in our very own Scotiabank Centre. Before, during or after the games, visit the #ExploreNB Fan Fest for all kinds of family-friendly fun. Festivities include live entertainment, viewing parties, bouncy castles, face painters, mascots, merchandise and more.

Ross Farm Winter Frolic (January 14-15): Winter Frolic at Ross Farm Museum – what a beautiful way to spend a family day in January! Enjoy their winter wonderland with a sleigh ride, a delicious cup of hot chocolate and more.

MadSadGlad with Symphony Nova Scotia (January 14-15): Discover all the ways that music can express mad, sad, glad and more emotions.  This is an ideal way to introduce young children to the concert experience.

Pancake Pyjama Party at Pier 21 (January 22): Join the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in your comfiest PJ’s for a unique event celebrating the many cultures and experiences of people in Canada and Mi’kma’ki.

Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival (January 27 – 29): Come to downtown Dartmouth to experience the annual Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival – a heartwarming celebration of local love! This all-ages fun day will include FREE activities such as ice sculpture carvings, workshops and live entertainment.

Dinosaur March at the Discovery Centre (January 28): The Discovery Centre is hosting a Dinosaur March to welcome the new exhibit, Dinosaurs in Motion. Bring your costume, cosplay or best dinosaur clothes and join in the fun.
