The other day, my son told me he wanted to go on a date with his momma. I couldn’t say no to a date with my littlest love so I tried to think of the perfect thing for us to do. He’s never gone mini-golfing in Saskatoon so we chose a date at Mars Mini Golf. We had a lot of fun golfing inside at their 18-hole course. It’s been SO cold out that we were also happy to be getting some energy out in a warm area.

They offer 3-D glasses to make the experience even wilder! My son had his on the entire time but I did most of it without. He thought everything around him was so cool and spent a lot of time admiring it all. The entire area is amazing from the floor to the walls.

We went mini-golfing in Ontario once when my son was two. He had no interest back then. This was our first time trying again and I think we’ll have to go a lot more so he can learn how to play. My son is smart but he also likes to learn on his own and he wasn’t really interested in instruction. He had fun but definitely helped the golf ball out a little on his own. We still had fun and that’s all that matters!

We had a blast walking around the mini-golf area and playing our game of golf. We weren’t keeping score but maybe someday we will be able to! It was really just nice to get out of the house after a Christmas holiday of keeping inside away from the cold. I think my son and I will try for one activity a week to keep us from going stir crazy. Or one date a week!

We chose the perfect place for our date. The weather wasn’t warming up and we needed to get out. The course is good for all ages. And even though it’s 18-holes, we got through quickly. We had lots of laughs and spent a lot of time looking at all the work they put into the golf course.
We followed it up with a delicious supper at Canadian Brewhouse and got home just in time for bed. My son let me know that we should have date night every night, but I think we’ll just go for one adventure a week. We won’t let the cold weather stop us.
