Bargain hunters and treasure seekers rejoice! It’s garage sale season in Metro Vancouver. Finding and visiting garage sales has changed a lot since I was a kid– we used to walk or drive through our community and write down information from a poster about upcoming garage sales. Our weekends were (usually) free so we could visit at whim. Now, weekends are busy, and many items are sold through Facebook Marketplace or other community groups. But that doesn’t mean that garage sales aren’t around anymore —on the contrary, local communities organize large-scale garage sales to encourage people to reduce, reuse, and recycle treasures they no longer have use for. If you’re on the hunt for some new items, visit one of these great local garage sales around Metro Vancouver.
