Celebrate Halloween at the Ecology Centre.  Learn the facts behind the myths about spooky creatures like bats, spiders, owls and creepy crawlies.

Explore, discover and connect with nature while you join in the festivities at the Halloween Weekend Extravaganza. This drop-in event is suitable for all ages and promises to be filled with fun for everyone in the family. Listen to a faBOOlous story, make a special craft, or watch a film about the season of scares.

Learn about forest dwellers that have received a bad reputation, such as bats. They are often associated with all things spooky around Halloween and pictured flying out of a haunted house. But how much do you really know about these amazing creatures? For example, do you know that bats aren’t actually blind? In fact, bats have an incredible sense of sight and some use solely their sense of sight to hunt, while others use both sight and echolocation.

Visit the Ecology Centre to learn more about other creatures that have also received a spooky reputation through the nature museum displays. Keep the bats in your neighborhood safe and thriving by entering a draw to win your very own bat house. Entrance to this incredible event is by donation to the Ecology Centre.

Don’t forget to wear your costume to earn a prize!
