Chilliwack Sunflower Festival (on until September 6) – there’s just enough time at the start of September to pop out to Chilliwack and take in the beauty of sky-high sunflowers! Running daily until September 6, the open-field experience will introduce you to a stunning number of sunflower varieties.
Outdoor Movies in New West & Richmond (various dates in September) – grab the kids and load up the car with snacks! It’s movie time. Outdoor movies are playing in both New West and Richmond through September. You will need to reserve your spot ahead of time.
TAIWANfest (Sept 2 – 12) is a FREE family festival that celebrates the storied cultures of Asia. For 2021, the festival is a combination of online and in-person events.
Good Times Cruise-In (Sept 11) returns to downtown Aldergrove. Thousands of cars – new, old, restored, hot-rodded – close off the streets. Have a wander and be sure to keep your hands to yourself!
RiverFest (Sept 21 – 28) is a FREE family-friendly festival, and a great way to learn more about the mighty Fraser River. Head to the Fraser River Discovery Centre in New Westminster. This year the festival is both in-person and online and runs for an entire week instead of just one day.
Scarecrow Stroll (September 25 – October 31) is a fun fall festival at Art Knapps in Surrey. Explore the expansive 10+ acre nursery anytime between Sept 25 and Halloween to enjoy a casual, socially distant, outdoor stroll amongst 50+ scarecrows and fall photo opportunities. You can purchase a scarecrow kit to take home and build for your own garden.
