Keep those teenage minds engaged and growing this March and sign up your budding thespian – aged 13 – 17 years – for an uproariously funny, confidence-building, skills-infused Vancouver TheatreSports Spring Break Improv Intensive.

The Vancouver TheatreSports Intensive isn’t a glorified child-minding Spring Break Camp, the teens enrolled in this intensive program will end their week in possession of new skills and confidence in the world of improv. Thinking and being creative on your feet is a skill we all need in every day life, not just on the theatre stage. This improv intensive will give your teen communication and social interaction tools they will utilize in all aspects of their lives.

Students will be coached in the areas of creativity, teamwork, trust of their own ideas, acceptance of the ideas of others, listening, story-telling, character creation and environment work. The experienced and very supportive improv teachers will guide the students through a variety of improv games and exercises to hone the skills needed for good improvised scenes.

We really applaud Vancouver TheatreSports for including a showcase performance! Parents, friends, grandparents are invited to watch the students demonstrate their newly garnered skills on Sunday March 22 (4pm – 4:30pm). So often your child spends a week in a camp or program and the parents are entirely reliant on their child remembering what they learned during the day. I can’t be the only parent whose kid can never remember a single thing! Vancouver TheatreSports has removed the guesswork, parents can see for themselves the skills their teens acquired during the week-long intensive.

This Vancouver TheatreSports Spring Break Improv Intensive is perfect for students interested in strengthening their performance or presentation skills or for students who wish to be a little more outgoing.

In 2012, after nearly 2 decades of fundraising for BC universities, Lindsay Follett was ready for a change of pace and came on board as the City Editor of Family Fun Vancouver. For 10 years she, together with her husband and their two sons, explored every possible family-friendly event and found constant enjoyment in sharing their adventures with the Family Fun Vancouver audience.
