Critical thinking and problem-solving top the list of skills needed to succeed in the future workforce. As I’m sure almost every parent has experienced, children are not innately born with these tools. It’s much easier to battle with a sibling over a mutually-desired toy, than it is to devise a creative solution where everyone finds a satisfactory – or at least reasonable – resolution. Exposing our kids to programs, classes, and camps that teach them the crucial skills of analytical thinking, independent problem solving, creativity, and maintaining a growth mindset is laying the foundation for their future success.
The Spring Break camps offered by Zen Maker Lab are entrenched in these fundamental and transferrable skills. Their focus on STEAM (science, technology, education, arts, and math) concepts prepares kids to be future innovators and leaders. By consistently exposing the camp participants to new puzzles and opportunities, the educators at Zen Maker Lab are helping ensure brain malleability and growth.
