Southcentre Mall is proud to offer A Special Time for Santa, a free, by registration only, sensory-friendly Santa visit program designed for children with Autism, mobility disabilities and other special needs. Visiting Santa is part of many families’ holiday traditions, but it can be difficult for children with sensory processing difficulties, due to bright lights, noise, and crowds.
A Special Time for Santa will be a time for kids to visit Santa Claus with Southcentre’s usual holiday music and lights off (with plenty of natural lighting) to provide a quiet, calm and supportive environment for families and children with sensory needs in mind, including autism, Asperger’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Families can register for A Special Time for Santa by calling 403-225-9100. Space per event is limited to the first 150 families who register. Once registered, further information including confirmation of your time slot, parking, and check-in information will be provided directly. Due to the event’s popularity, Southcentre will be offering three opportunities for A Special Time for Santa leading up to the holidays, on November 25, December 2, and December 9, 2018.
