Alberta University of the Arts Programs

Alberta University of the Arts: Inspire, Imagine, and Create This Winter!

Enjoying the season starts when you create a life that sparks joy. This winter, add that joy with new activities, creativity, and meaningful connection! Alberta University of the Arts offers fall and winter programs to nurture that innate spark of creativity. Kids and teens, aged 3 – 17, will learn hands-on techniques with experienced artists and designers who are passionate about their art. This winter is the perfect time to inspire your future artist!

An early emphasis on creativity benefits kids in every way, engaging long-term cognitive functions, like concentration and creative thinking. Creativity promotes confidence and self-expression as it refines motor skills. It helps build community and connection and lowers stress hormones while increasing endorphins and dopamine.

Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is one of only four art, craft, and design universities in Canada. Formerly Alberta College of Art & Design, they’ve been dedicated to innovative and emerging art, craft, and design programs for 100 years. It’s a vibrant community of thinkers, shapers, makers, and risk takers from around the world, and the only school of its type in Alberta.

Parent and Child Programs (Ages 3 – 8 + Adult)

Children aged 3 – 8 will enjoy parented classes introducing a variety of art mediums and techniques. These classes support early creativity and connection. Your child’s imagination will flourish as they explore art and create hands-on projects. Guided by an experienced art facilitator, you’ll experiment with simple techniques using clay, collage, and paint, while building creativity and confidence.

Teen Programs (Ages 13 – 17)

Teens aged 13 – 17 can get creative with programs designed just for them. AUArts offers a mix of online or on-campus programming, designed to fit into a busy schedule. The upcoming season holds courses like Level up in 3D: Blender Basics and Crochet All Day.

It’s time to plan a creative winter! Register your child or teen for programs at Alberta University of the Arts. Imagine, create, and be inspired by fellow artists!
