One of the beautiful things about living in Alberta is being a stones-throw away from the mountains. Looking at these mountains, they do nothing but scream physical activity, pushing us to get active, ultimately reducing our stress and boosting are overall sense of well-being.
Nestled in the midst of these mountains, an Alberta gem, Camp Impeesa – operated by Scouts Canada – but open to all adventurous youth.
Camp Impeesa is Alberta’s premier summer camp. Burrowed in the heart of the Castle Wilderness near Crowsnest Pass on Beaver Mines Lake, their 5-night camps are geared to boys and girls aged 9 to 16.
With a focus on adventure and skill development, this High Adventure Camp boasts a new 40 foot climbing tower, a new high and low ropes course, and a new dual zip line across the lake. This is on top of all of the other amazing activities in store for campers – archery and tomahawk, canoeing and kayaking, orienteering, hiking, volleyball and so much more! Maximize your adventure with mountain biking and top rope climbing.
Parents rest assured, as your children spend their time on an adventure-filled journey of self-discovery, team-building, skill development, and FUN, they will be doing so under the watchful eye of fully trained adventure staff and full-time camp counsellors (at a ratio of 6:1).
Although campers will be “roughing it” in tents, we don’t need to worry about the kind of meals they will be having all week long. Camp Impeesa serves hot, tasty and nutritious meals from their full commercial kitchen. Of course, special dietary needs will be accommodated.
