Airdrie Festival of Lights | December 1 – 31, 2025
Head out to Airdrie for the city’s annual festival of lights. The event features beautiful Christmas lights, miniature train rides, hot chocolate, bonfires, and much more. Santa will visit on select dates, and there will be other special events as well. Nose Creek Pond is located within the festival area and is a great place to skate outdoors when conditions permit.

Banff: In Search of Christmas Spirit | Select Days, November 13 – December 31, 2025
Head to the mountains this winter, In Search of Christmas Spirit, as Banff is bringing you an outdoor lighting experience for a magical evening. Be sure to get your free tickets before heading out for this 45-minute walking story journey, told by the illuminated wildlife of Banff National Park. This event fills up quickly.

Lions’ Festival of Lights | November 22, 2025 – January 8, 2026
The Lions’ Festival of Lights is normally the largest free drive-by Christmas light showcase in Calgary. For over three decades, Calgarians have enjoyed this spectacular light display at the SE corner of Confederation Park. Whether you drive by it every day or only occasionally, it’s a Calgary Christmas tradition that never fails to delight. The lights are on beginning November 22, 2025, until January 8, 2026

Spruce Meadows Christmas Lights | December 5 – 7, 12 – 14, and 19 – 24, 2025
Spruce Meadows at Christmas is magical! In past years, they have hosted a drive-through light experience, but there’s something new this year — mark your calendars for the Enchanted Festival! Every evening, this Christmas lights walk-through will feature fire pits, vendors, indoor activities, family movies, and of course, the sparkling magic of millions of lights! This event is ticketed.

Strathmore Ag Society Celebration of Lights | November 29, 2025 – January 1, 2026
Enjoy the Celebration of Lights at the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society! The park is open nightly, starting November 29, 2025. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Families will enjoy visits with Santa right before Christmas and a Kids’ New Year’s Eve party.

Do you have the most spectacular light display in your neighbourhood? Atlas Coal Mine Christmas in the Coulee
With 40,000+ lights across 12 acres at the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site, Christmas in the Coulee is a sparkling, festive event that will amaze you! Twenty minutes southeast of Drumheller, you’ll find holiday lights set against the dark Badland skies, crafts, music, treats, train rides, and Santa Claus!

Canmore Rotary Festival of Trees
The Rotary Festival of Trees is a magical event happening all December in Canmore for the whole family. Imagine an indoor forest of Christmas trees decorated and twinkling all in one place, all created and donated by local businesses. There will be extra events and activities happening, too, like a FREE Kids’ Holiday Extravaganza.

Discovery Wildlife Park Light the Night
Discovery Wildlife Park has over 90 acres of open parkland and is home to dozens of species of animals, from local animals to exotic creatures, for a cool day trip. But if you’re in the area at Christmas, stop by for Light the Night! It’s a drive-through light experience, with a gift shop and a concession.

Downtown Calgary
We have a beautiful downtown, and the office towers definitely do it up right with lots of lights! Head downtown and go for a wander. Don’t miss Stephen Avenue, Olympic Plaza, the McDougall Centre and the CORE.
