This spring and summer, find a new activity! Join the Encorps Winterguard – an exciting performance group that combines dance, flag, rifle, and storytelling. It’s all about colour and movement and artistry. And, of course, enjoying lively, active fun! Plus, Encorps Winterguard is hosting FREE Discovery Days, filled with fun games, creativity, and teamwork!

Do you have questions about winterguard? Winterguard is an indoor sport and performance activity, derived from military ceremonies. It involves choreography, dance, and movement, using equipment such as flags. It’s about creative movement to music, and it’s fun for all ages.

Encorps Winterguard was developed by a group of people who had marched in the Calgary drum corps. What started as a way to keep in touch and stay active became an organization for everyone to enjoy. They create theatrical and exciting winterguard programs for all ages and levels, for performance, entertainment, and fun. With a strong team culture, Encorps Winterguard is an inclusive, supportive, and high-energy environment. Kids can build lifelong friendships as they develop confidence and learn to work with others.

Encorps Winterguard

Encorps Winterguard has adult programs, but families will be most interested in Evolution, for teens aged 13 – 18. No experience is necessary, as training is provided. The structured season clearly moves kids from learning to performing, with regular rehearsals and intensive camps. Participants will have the opportunity to perform and compete, both locally, regionally, and beyond.

Winterguard offers a unique artistic experience with a blend of music, movement, and visual performance. But with a youth development focus, kids also gain leadership opportunities. Besides expressing creativity in a team setting, these programs build responsibility, discipline, and esprit de corps.
