Summer is the time to play, move, and discover the amazing world in which we live. A successful day is filled with imagination and exploring, and hopefully ends with kids falling happily into bed at night! Sometimes it’s also a time when our kids need a safe and fun place to be during the day. The Genesis Centre has an amazing line-up of summer camps this year that will delight your child. From active camps to Idea Lab camps to Engineering for Kids camps, the hardest part will be choosing what weeks to attend.

Alien In-Line Summer Skate Camps

Kids ages 6 – 8 and 9 – 12 can join the Alien In-Line crew for summer skate camps this year for 3 different weeks: July 16 – 20, July 30 – August 3, and August 13 – 17, 2018. Alien In-Line expert instructors will provide an exciting and fun experience at these full-day camps. Beginning with an introduction and review of basic skating skills, all participants will be able to enjoy the camp activities from a similar level. Then the kids will get to build on their skating abilities with unique tricks, special skills, and fun games! Participants can expect lots of skating time with two 90 minute skating sessions daily. In between skating sessions, traditional camp activities will be incorporated, as well as a lunch period and occasional break. The camp will also include discussions of safety, maintenance, and proper warm-ups.

Idea Lab Summer Camps

The Idea Lab summer camps are all set to accommodate children ages 5 – 13. (Age depends on specific camp chosen.) For the weeks of July 9 – 13 and July 30 – August 3, 2018, you can choose camps like the Invention Lab, Movie Green Screen, or Drone Engineering. Or maybe your child would be interested in coding? No matter what you choose, you’re guaranteed a unique week of summer camp experiences. Some of these camps are half-day camps.

Play Sports Alberts Summer Camps

Would your child prefer a traditional sport? During the weeks of July 9 – 14, July 16 – 20, and July 23 – 27, 2018, children ages 6 – 12 can give it their all in a full-day volleyball camp. No previous experience is required for these camps and core fundamental movement skills will be developed through fun games and activities. This camp emphasizes the importance of being “physically literate” to engage in a wide variety of physical activities in life.

Engineering for Kids Summer Camps

STEM programs hold a significant place in preparing kids for the world, and thankfully, kids love them. From August 13 – 17, 2018, children ages 3 – 6 and 7 – 14 can let their imagination run wild! The goal of Engineering for Kids summer camps is to provide your child with a top learning experience aimed at expanding their horizons into the rewarding world of science, technology, engineering, and math. The exceptional leaders provide a fun and challenging way to stimulate their brains through engaging hands-on activities at these half-day or full-day camps.
