There’s nothing like a summer spent outside, enjoying the moment and staying active. And there’s nothing like discovering that there are all kinds of ways to learn! Kids will learn through play, discovery, and exploration with summer camps at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. These camps, hosted by Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation, are the perfect destination for school-age kids.
The Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation is dedicated to protecting and preserving Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, which has an important heritage and ecological value. Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park was officially created in 2008 and the vision of the foundation is to make the park “one of the most inspiring, accessible and healthy protected urban parks in North America.” With almost 30 km of trails, it is an ideal location to get outside and enjoy the natural world. They also offer educational programming, like summer camps, about grasslands, ponds, and archaeology.
Glenbow Ranch Summer Camps
With these unique camps, there is so much to discover! Do your kids love playing in the water? You’ll definitely want to check out Wild About Wetlands. If your child loves digging in the dirt or is fascinated by the people who came before us, then take a look at Mystery of Archaeology. Or you can send your child on a biking adventure! What camp will your child choose?
Wild About Wetlands (6 – 8 years): The wetlands are calling! Discover pond critters and wild grasslands and how plants and animals protect our water supply through hikes, games, pond critter catching, a golf cart tour, and crafts. Campers will become wetland protectors!
Bike Glenbow (9 – 13 years): Glenbow Ranch is perfect to explore on two wheels! Come bike the Glenbow pathways while playing games, and learn how to enjoy the outdoors while responsibly taking care of our ecosystem. All campers must bring bikes, bike helmets, water bottles, journals, and a sense of adventure!
Nature’s Stage (6 – 8 and 9 – 13 years): Are you ready to get creative? The stunning surroundings and history of Glenbow Ranch will inspire a week of art, crafts, and drama. Campers will engage in art by the Bow River, group games and performances, a golf cart adventure, and a final presentation for families on Friday afternoon. See you at the park!
Mystery of Archaeology (6 – 8 years): Let’s get dirty! Unearth hidden stories of this land in a simulated dig site. Campers will handle artifacts and hear stories passed on by Indigenous friends. They’ll also go hiking, crafting, and golf cart touring, while discovering a few of the many archaeological sites in the park, some just off the pathway!
Navigating Through Nature (9 – 13 years): It’s time to explore! Campers will learn how to use GPS handsets and how to read maps as they navigate the park. Along the way, they’ll learn about the park’s history and the importance of habitats like grasslands and wetlands. This camp includes hiking, games, crafts, picnics, golf cart touring, and a group geocaching challenge!
Glenbow Ranch summer camps are available weekly all summer long for children ages 6 – 13. (If your child is turning 6 by December 31, 2025, you can sign them up for the 6 – 8 year camps.) Kids will attend camp from 9 AM – 4 PM and there will be early drop-off available beginning at 8:30 AM and late pickup ending at 4:30 PM.
This summer, plan on playing outside and enjoying active fun that keeps kids learning all season long! Registration is $275 per week, and you’ll need to register soon to guarantee a spot. See you at Glenbow Ranch!
