Are you hungry? How does homemade gnocchi in charred red pepper sauce sound? Perhaps followed by lemon blueberry scones with glaze? It’s delicious, it’s practical, and it’s an amazing March break camp for your kids! There’s nothing like getting your kids involved in fun, kid-friendly programs that teach real-life skills, like Nini’s Cooking Class spring break camp. (But you’ll want to register soon, to reserve your spot!)

Kids love to eat and they often have a fascination with adult activities. We all love the idea of getting kids into the kitchen and learning how to cook, but sometimes the process can wear out a parent’s patience. Nini’s Cooking Class was created to educate, encourage, and get families excited about getting their own kids cooking, by offering a variety of classes that teach the necessary skills. Chef Nini began her own culinary journey at a young age, from her grandmother, mother, and sisters who attended culinary schools. She continued to strengthen her skills by attending culinary training herself and began to prepare her own signature meals and entertain friends.

Nini's Cooking Class (Family Fun Calgary)

Nini’s Cooking Class spring break camp will cultivate a love of cooking healthy foods and empower kids to help out at home. Sharing food knowledge with kids enables them to create recipes on their own and also has a positive impact on their life-long eating habits. The international menu appeals to any palate and will teach kids everything they need to know for success in the kitchen, from making delicious healthy meals to kitchen safety.

The goal of Nini’s Cooking Class is to equip and expose students to hands-on recipes from around the world. Young chefs, from ages 5 to 18 years, will learn about different global flavours in cooking and baking. They will learn step-by-step how to prepare these meals and appreciate new foods, new flavours, and diverse cultures. The best part for them is enjoying their own food, but the best part for you will be when they bring these sweet and savoury recipes home and know how to make them for you! These lifelong cooking skills ignite creativity and build self-esteem. Kids eat what they prepare, build confidence, and have fun!

Nini's Cooking Class (Family Fun Calgary)

No experience is required and kids will learn skills from food safety and knife skills to meal planning and etiquette. They will learn how to bake, use the correct kitchen tools, and prepare dinner for a family. Nini’s Cooking Class spring break camp runs from March 27 – 31, 2023, from 9 am – 4 pm. Before and after care is available for a fee, beginning at 8 am and ending at 5 pm.

What does your camper need to bring? A smile, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and have fun! They get to eat their own food, so you may want to send them with a takeaway container, in case there are leftovers. Don’t forget a labelled water bottle, and for kitchen safety reasons, please wear indoor closed-toe shoes and have hair tied back. It is also mandatory for all campers to purchase a Nini’s Cooking uniform (chef coat, apron, and cut gloves).

Kids (of all ages!) learn through play and as a parent, it’s so satisfying to watch your child learn important, practical life skills while they are having a great time. Fill March break with practical learning, good times, and delicious food! Registration is now open for a camp experience that will bring benefits all year long.
