Kids might act up when they get bored, but this summer, they can act out with a flourish at StoryBook Theatre summer camps! When your kids find their passion on stage, your living room will be a stage and singing in the shower is the best background music. StoryBook Theatre is one of Calgary’s top theatres for young audiences. They help kids shine with summer camps, so everyone finds their place.
Stories entertain, inspire, and connect us. For decades, StoryBook Theatre has been delighting children of all ages with charming performances and popular stories. Their theatre productions are filled with incredible talent, both on and off the stage, so the whole family can enjoy a show together. The summer camps at StoryBook are a unique opportunity for kids to explore different perspectives and dream about who they are and who they might become.
Summer Theatre Camps
The summer theatre camps and programs at StoryBook Theatre are designed to take kids ages 6 – 12 on a theatre journey, where they can create, perform, and express themselves in a safe and supportive environment. These camps run weekly from June 29 to August 7, 2026, and include a final presentation on the last day of class. Camps run from 9 AM – 4 PM, and there is also FREE care starting at 7 AM and ending at 6 PM.
These camps are designed so kids can create a play in a week of fun! Here, students will learn how to navigate the creation of their own play in a safe theatre space. With writing, producing, casting, and rehearsing, kids will gain confidence and be empowered through taking ownership of a creative project. They will show off their accomplishments when they present their play with the final theatre presentation on the last day of camp.
Summer Spotlight
Looking for more? Kids aged 9 – 12 can attend a three-week Summer Spotlight, creating theatre magic in a fully immersive process. Campers will be performing Pure Imagination, a Broadway Junior revue that celebrates some of the most loved shows in musical theatre. Parents will enjoy a final performance on the last Thursday evening of their session.
It’s time to give kids a place where they can act out and be celebrated! No experience is needed — just a good dose of curiosity and imagination. Then those creative kids will enjoy a summer of play! Registration is now open for your kids to make their entrance and take the stage.
