The Beach YYC Summer Camps: Get Set to Get Sandy This Summer!

What’s better than a day at the beach? Well, as we don’t have many beach options here in Calgary, how about a week of summer camps at The Beach YYC?! Sometimes you just need to feel the sand under your feet. It’s a long drive to the ocean, but The Beach YYC summer camps offer all the summer fun kids love, like digging in the sand, playing games and sports, and making crafts.

The Beach YYC was born out of a love for staying active. It’s an indoor, sandy beach that’s perfect for beach volleyball, providing Calgarians with a fun and accessible place to play. It’s where you can kick off your shoes, get a little sandy, and enjoy a taste of summer, no matter the season. The Beach YYC often hosts drop-in playtime for young children, and now older kids will get to play, too, with beach camps in July and August.

Summer Camps

Summer beach camps at The Beach YYC run weekly all summer, beginning on July 8, 2024. (They even have a 3-day camp for that awkward week when the CBE kids go back to school on a Thursday!) Camps are designed for kids ages 6 – 10, but if you’re wondering about kids of other ages, reach out and see if they may still be accepted. Kids will attend camp from 9 am – 4 pm, but parents can also access extra care before and after the sessions.

What will your kids do at a summer camp with The Beach YYC? Lots of digging, playing, and making crafts! The Beach YYC promotes physical literacy programs, including relay races, frisbee games, sandcastle competitions, and scavenger hunts. Kids will play beach volleyball, dodgeball, and soccer. They can also enjoy beach picnic games and don’t forget snack time!
