This year, Calgary’s luxury downtown shopping centre, the CORE, is expanding their Chinese New Year celebration to create a fun full-shopping weekend complete with authentic experiences. Celebrate the Year of the Dog in the heart of Calgary’s Chinatown from February 10 – 18. The third show jumping event of the Winter Series, the February Classic takes to the indoor comfort of the Spruce Meadows Equi-Plex. If you’ve been thinking about trying out fishing and have yet to take the plunge, why not try out the sport during one of Alberta’s FREE Family Fishing Weekends? These weekends happen twice a year (February and July) and allow Albertans and visitors alike to fish without a licence. Keep in mind that all other fishing regulations still apply, waterbodies in national parks are not included, and the stream/river/lake you choose to fish in must be open for fishing.
