Winter City Weekends at City Hall | Weekends

City Hall Plaza ice rink is the coolest spot to hang out this winter with the return of Winter City Weekends! The Edmonton Arts Council will have FREE skate rentals available daily, followed by the return of Ice Grooves, Learn to Skate, and Swing’n’Skate! Visit Churchill Square every weekend in February to enjoy the free programming and live music.

International Festival of Winter Cinema | February 6-15

  Bundle up and enjoy your next movie experience in the great outdoors during the 9th Annual International Festival of Winter Cinema! The family-friendly film fest has once again partnered with the Silver Skate Festival to bring winter fun to Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park. The festival promises plenty of excitement with winter-themed films and art installations. Pack your chairs and blankets and cozy up in the one-of-a-kind snow theatre to celebrate winter, mountain sports, polar, indigenous, and local films. Silver Skate Festival | February 6-16

  Bundle up and take part in Edmonton’s longest-running outdoor winter festival! Celebrate your love of the outdoors with snow sculptures, fire sculptures, recreation zone activities, folk stories,  and more. Don’t miss the free fun in the Recreation Zone, the impressive snow and fire sculptures, fantastical tales along the Folk Trail, or skating on the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park outdoor rink!

Leduc County Winter Try It Festival | February 7

  Bundle up and head out to Wizard Lake for Leduc County’s annual Winter Try It Festival. Try a variety of winter sports and activities, including skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, curling, broomball, and ice fishing, plus enjoy free maple taffy, hot dogs, hot chocolate, coffee, sleigh rides, live music, door prizes, and more!

Sweet Treats & Latte Festival | February 12-22

The Sweet Treats & Latte Festival is returning to Old Strathcona this winter to help you warm up and support our local coffee scene!  Beginning Thursday, February 12, 2026, you can enjoy featured baked goodies and lattes from various coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants across the neighbourhood, plus fun contests with great prizes. Mini Dino Adventure Camp at Muttart | February 26 & 27

Uncover fossils and dig for bones while you adventure through a tropical jungle during the Mini Dino Adventure Camp at Muttart Conservatory! This two-day camp is an exploration of the Prehistoric Paradise feature pyramid, and all things dinosaur!
