En garde! Raise those swords! It’s time for an epic spring break adventure at Academie Duello’s Knight Camp! Voted “The Best Children’s Camp” by The Georgia Strait, Knight Camp is sure to be an experience your child won’t forget! This spring break, campers aged 8-14 years will journey back to the Middle Ages for a week of knight training. Just imagine the look on your child’s face when you tell them their spring break consists of longsword, shields, archery, and medieval games.

Academie Duello is the only authentic knight school for youth (ages 8 – 14) in Canada. The spring break camps are taught in a safe and engaging environment by Academie Duello’s trained instructors. And with a 7500-square-foot training facility, there is ample room for everyone to spread out, making room for swords of all lengths.

The wildly popular Academie Duello Knight Camp was established in 2008 and over the years has introduced thousands of students to sword fighting, archery, medieval games, and the knightly virtues of courage and integrity.

During the 5-day-long camp, everyone uses properly weighted and balanced synthetic swords that give the authentic feel of the real thing, all while staying safe. Synthetic swords are also easier for beginners to maneuver. Students will get the opportunity to interact with real swords and armour as well as create their own shields. Additionally, campers will engage in adventure, creativity, and storybuilding as they create their own characters. History comes alive over the course of the week, and kids get a chance to experience knight training in an interactive, fun, and supportive way. At the end of Knight Camp, there is a special ceremony that sees students graduate and move up in their ranking.

Additional Information to Make Your Knight Camp Epic:

  • Bring a daily lunch along with one or two snacks and a refillable water bottle
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Wear comfortable and flexible shoes with non-marking soles
  • Bring leather or cotton gloves (not ski gloves, they are too bulky)
  • For sparring, bring a protective sports groin protection (jock or jill strap)
  • For sparring, bring elbow and knee pads (e.g. the same type of pads kids wear for rollerblading)

Academie Duello recognizes that many parents are working over the school spring break; the organizers offer before and after-camp child-minding services. Parents can drop off their kids as early as 8:30am and pick up as late as 5pm, if required.
