Voted “Best Children’s Camp” by the Georgia Strait, Knight Camp is the only authentic knight school for children (ages 8-14) in Canada and boasts a beautiful 7500-square-foot facility in Downtown Vancouver. The wildly popular Academie Duello Knight Camp was established in 2008 and over the years has introduced thousands of students to sword fighting, archery, medieval games, and the knightly virtues of courage and integrity.
At Knight Camp, children will receive a unique and immersive experience in medieval swordplay in a fun and engaging environment. Whether you’re a novice or have some experience with swordplay, Academie Duello’s experienced instructors will guide you through an exciting curriculum designed to develop your skills, enhance your knowledge, and instill the virtues of honour, integrity, and courage in your quest to become a knight.
During your 5-day Knight Camp, students will learn the skills of knighthood, such as the martial arts skills of using a longsword, sword, and shield. Participants, or knights-in-training, use specialty synthetic swords that maintain the feeling and balance of being a real sword while staying safe and easy to manage.
In addition to sword skills, participants will learn archery, play medieval games, learn about the history, heraldry, and traditions of medieval times, and practice their leadership skills to ensure they become outstanding young knights. The end of each week will feature a grand-finale tournament where participants can show off their skills to friends and family. With specific challenges to accomplish each week, participants rank up a level at the end of each camp they attend, going through 7 levels, from page to knight-on-vigil, at which point they must complete a series of knightly trials before being inducted into Academie Duello’s Knightly Order.
