Enjoy your summer break exploring the beautiful sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics.  Fun, fitness, flexibility, confidence, and creativity are all found at Adagio International Rhythmic Gymnastics Summer Camp!

Adagio Rhythmic Academy is one of the top schools for training young athletes in the growing sport of rhythmic gymnastics.  Under the guidance of professional coaches, Adagio Rhythmic Academy teaches, supports, and inspires new Recreational Beginner rhythmic gymnasts, as well as Intermediate Competitive levels and advanced National level Competitive Team Members along a clear pathway geared forward, and in accordance with each individual gymnast’s own specific needs.  Newcomers to Adagio experience what it means to be part of a team with a common purpose and goals, working together within an athlete-centric environment that supports each child’s well-being, while assisting them to be the very best they can be.  Adagio’s coaching philosophy never loses sight of the individuality of each person; we strive to create an atmosphere that both challenges and inspires, with the constant awareness that each individual child is unique.  By inspiring confidence and providing support in a team environment, gymnasts will: develop interpersonal athletic connections, build social confidence, and experience a sense of unity while working towards a common goal

In practical terms, the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics differs from traditional gymnastics in how it is performed and the apparatus used. Rhythmic gymnasts gradually acquire skill in graceful body movements that require strength, hand-eye coordination, and agility.  The apparatus that rhythmic gymnasts use are the hoop, ball, rope, ribbon, and clubs.

Rhythmic gymnastics differs from traditional gymnastics in how it is performed and the apparatus used. In rhythmic gymnastics, athletes focus on creativity, form, rhythm, and artistry through their performance and tell a story through their movement. In essence, it is a combination of dance, music, and gymnastics skilled seamlessly blended to create a captivating performance. Rhythmic gymnastics also uses hoops, balls, ribbons, and sometimes other materials to create expressive routines, rather than relying on large structures such as beams and bars. When these skills are combined, one sees an elegant and innovative musically choreographed performance that can “tell a story”.

A leader in instruction, Adagio International Rhythmic Gymnastics focuses on technique and creativity. Their summer camps group participants by skill, meaning those who have never stepped foot on the carpet will still find supportive and encouraging instructors, while those who have plenty of experience will be challenged to step beyond what they have already mastered.

Adagio International Rhythmic Gymnastics is offering two different summer camp options:

Recreational Rhythmic Gymnastics | ages 5-12

During this introductory set of summer camps, students will be introduced to new gymnastics skills, including how to work with balls, hoops, ribbons, and rope. Students will learn and work on strengthening their existing gymnastics skills, as well as increasing their general fitness level, flexibility and conditioning. The camp will include time to play games both in the gym and at the adjacent park.

Competitive Rhythmic Gymnastics | ages 6 – 18

Take the next step in training as your gymnast learns from professional coaches from Adagio’s top coaches. In this camp, athletes will cover all levels of competitive training, with focus on improving both body and apparatus skills and learning new mastery of apparatus for inclusion in their new routines. To maximise results from their summer training, it is recommended that gymnasts participate in 3 weeks of camp. Upon conclusion of the 3-week camp, Adagio is also offering to competitive level gymnasts the opportunity to book 2-hour one-on-one private choreography sessions, with the aim of having new choreographies completed before the 2025-2026 season begins
