Fall is here, and it’s time to celebrate with family and friends! Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at Gateway Theatre for exceptional entertainment and a fun afternoon of family-friendly activities.
If you’ve never experienced a Mid-Autumn Festival, you’re in for a treat! The Mid-Autumn Festival is often called the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival because it occurs when the moon is at its brightest and roundest according to the lunar calendar, and it is customary to give and eat mooncakes during this time. What is a mooncake, you might ask? Mooncakes are sweet pastries that have intricate designs on the top. Mooncakes represent togetherness and unity, and are often given as gifts to friends and family. The Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes peace, prosperity, and harmony, making it the perfect event to bring your whole family and community circle to.
Gateway Theatre is celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with a plethora of family activities. The afternoon starts with a captivating live performance by talented singer, Renee Fajardo, at the Minoru Chapel. Then, head next door to Gateway Theatre’s lobby to make your very own lantern and enjoy complimentary mooncakes. Connect with your family and community over shared interests and let your creative side shine. This is an afternoon your family won’t forget, and the perfect way to usher in Fall.
