Do you have a future pilot with dreams of flight? The path from earth to sky is an exciting one, filled with big plans, hard work, and the inevitable twists and turns. Thankfully, there are many ways to nurture these dreams, even if you’re land-bound yourself! Altitude Flight Simulation Center offers summer camps for kids and teens aged 7 to 15. No experience is necessary to get time in the cockpit with certified pilot instructors. Your future pilot is only days away from their first set of wings. Now that’s a summer to remember!

Altitude Flight Simulation is Calgary’s only flight simulation center that’s open to the public. With realistic simulators and knowledgeable instructors, this recreational center welcomes everyone, and its mission is to grow aviation enthusiasts. Everyone enjoys the high-quality immersion in one of the several simulators, including the F-18 Super Hornet, a Boeing 737, an F-16 Viper, and a Spitfire VR. If you love planes, you belong here!

Altitude Aviation Camps

Summer camps at Altitude Flight Simulation Centre run through July and August, from Monday to Thursday, for 5 hours per day. Kids will learn about aviation, planes, careers in aviation, and navigation. Courses are designed and delivered by commercial pilots, with Canadian aviation standards in mind.

Small class sizes (with a maximum of 8 students per class) make it the perfect place for kids to build skills and get simulator time. They’ll enjoy some summer fun while learning something amazing and pursuing their passions! All camps will receive a gift card and certificate upon completion.

Cadet Airman, ages 7 – 9
The CBE grade 6 curriculum has inspired the Cadet Airman camps, as they explore the properties of air, the four forces of flight, and more. It’s filled with hands-on experiments and simulator time to put knowledge into practice.

First Class Airman, ages 9 – 12
First Class Airman camps cover instrumentation, navigation, air traffic control, recovery, careers, and more! Plus, kids will spend about 40% of their time in the simulator.

Senior Airman, ages 13 – 15
Your teen is a step closer to a 737 cockpit in the Senior Airman camps! They will become familiar with multiple cockpits, plan their routes, and use VFR. Kids will get to learn and practice on three types of simulators: F-18, Spitfire, and 737.

If your child is interested in aviation but isn’t ready to dive in, check out the single-day camps. These day camps give kids a taste of aviation, but are centred around fun activities.

Are you ready? This is the starting point for your young, future pilot. It’s time to register for summer camps at the Altitude Flight Simulation Center. It’s time to soar!
