Cherry Tree Lane

Cherry Tree Lane opened an online shop in late 2020 and is now opening a physical shop in the community of Bridgland. They have a great selection of Grimms, Grapat, and Sarah’s Silks among many other coveted international brands, plus toys from local toymakers, too. They have a STEM toy collection and a curated selection of books. In short, they have a passion for all things play and they are waiting to inspire your imagination. They have an online store, too.

Discovery Hut

Nestled in Chinook Centre, this toy store is full of hard-to-find toys for both kids and more grown-up toy collectors. (There’s a new location coming in the fall of 2023 to Market Mall, too!) The store carries a ton of Lego, with sets that will please even the pickiest Lego enthusiast in your family. Other popular items include their Mario Cart remote control cars, games, a vast array of educational toys, and Kid Robot Japanese collectable figures.

Heritage Park Toy Shoppe

Located in the Haskayne Mercantile Block outside Heritage Park’s gates, the Toy Shoppe carries a wide variety of vintage-inspired toys, games, and much more. It’s a great place to find that special something for a special youngster! Indigo/Chapters

While most of us know Chapters and Indigo as great places to buy books, they also stock several educational and high-quality toys, games, and puzzles. These are the big guys, and while they may not specialize in unique or hard-to-find toys, in a pinch you’ll probably be able to find something that will suit the kids on your gift list. Toys R Us carries most major brand-name toys and toys licensed from major movies and TV shows, and their in-house brand often has items that are similar to expensive brand-name toys, but at much less expensive prices.

Who’s Who in the Zoo

If you ever happen to be in the Calgary Airport, make a stop at Who’s Who in the Zoo. Their main store is located on the Departures level, with additional stores for travellers behind security. They have an amazing selection of toy and model aircraft, plus stuffed animals, toys that wiggle, move, and squeak, and travel items. And just so you know, the first 30 minutes of parking is free in the short-term Calgary Airport parkade.
