Whether you call it nature therapy, forest bathing, or just getting outside to play, getting back to nature is a vital part of well-being in our modern, citified world. This is true for adults and it’s especially true for our kids, as we encourage them in developing lifelong tools to help successfully navigate life’s challenges. Part of good mental health is having a growth mindset, trying new things, learning, and of course, getting outside! Camp Cadicasu is known for its summer camps, with a beautiful outdoor space, amazing staff, and a sense of community. But did you know that you can attend Forest School at Camp Cadicasu all year long? A perfect addition to your online or homeschooling journey, Camp Cadicasu Forest School will spark your kids’ imagination and get them outside and learning.

Located between Calgary and Banff, Camp Cadicasu has been welcoming campers for almost 100 years. Here kids can experience the natural world and the warmth of community while they enjoy fun activities and make new friends. Their mission is to “increase confidence, inspire purpose-driven lives, and deepen spirituality for people of all different faiths,” and they accomplish this through summer camps, year-round programs, field trips, and more.

Camp Cadicasu Forest School (Family Fun Calgary)

Camp Cadicasu Forest School is designed for children ages 7 – 12 years, helping kids connect with the world around them in a peaceful atmosphere. Sessions are offered on most Thursdays throughout the fall, winter, and spring, and you can sign up for an entire season or register for individual drop-in dates. All sessions run from 9 am to 3 pm. Each day is divided into cohorts based on daily programs, age, interest, and skill level. Activities include wilderness skills, shelter building, and fire making. You’ll also find games, crafts, performing arts, and archery. Of course, nature awareness, earth stewardship, hiking, and campfires are a natural part of Forest School, too! Kids of all interests will find something here. Most activities are done outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, kids can head inside to heated buildings. Don’t forget to pack a water bottle and food for the day.

This school year, add some back-to-nature fun to your week and enhance learning by letting your kids explore the natural world. Your kids will thrive at Camp Cadicasu Forest School, a friendly, welcoming place to experience adventure, nature, and the warmth of community. Find more information and register here.
