When the curtain rises on spring break, parents need to find a way to keep their kids engaged and occupied while school is out. Is your child interested in drama? Fascinated by the stage? Or do they want to learn how things go behind the scenes? Alberta Theatre Projects is bringing all drama queens and kings between the ages of 7 and 11 a chance to explore the world of theatre with spring break camps this March!
From March 23 – 27, 2020, students will enjoy a week of theatre exploration with talented professionals. This camp will give kids a chance to explore creativity, gain confidence, and make new friends who share the same interests! Talented professionals will guide your children through the various areas required to create a play, including performance fundamentals like voice, movement, character, and improvisation. Kids will learn about play creation and script development and explore the areas of set and costume design. They will build their skills, have fun, and maybe discover a passion they haven’t fully explored!
During the week, kids will learn the skills they need to create their own short play and then they’ll get the opportunity to perform it live for the parents at the end of the week. A video recording of the performance will also be provided to all registrants. It might inspire your kids to continue their creativity all year!
The Alberta Theatre Projects spring break camps are held at the Martha Cohen Theatre from 9 am – 5 pm and registration includes before care, starting at 8:30 am, and aftercare until 5:30 pm. So easy. Registration is now open for a week of engaging dramatic fun!
