During the holidays, Calgary Opera frequently presents a short and sweet family opera. Only an hour long, these operas are unique opportunities to introduce children to the world of opera. It’s a chance to dress up and enjoy live entertainment as a family.

Calgary Opera’s McPhee Artists (tomorrow’s opera stars) bring the classic to life, and the familiar story offers big excitement with a bite-sized opera experience. Little Red Riding Hood runs from Thursday to Sunday, November 28 – December 7, 2025, at the Mamdani Opera Centre. You can find showtimes at 11 AM, 3 PM, or 7 PM to accommodate family schedules. There is a sensory-friendly performance on December 6, 2025, as well.
