There’s a new park in NW Calgary, scheduled to open in June 2019. Dale Hodges Park, named for former Calgary Alderman Dale Hodges, is a large natural environment park along the northern banks of the Bow River, adjacent to Bowmont Park. Formerly the Klippert gravel pit, the City of Calgary has taken the opportunity to restore the ecological integrity of the area. The park will include stormwater wetlands, wildlife habitat, trails for cycling and walking, and lookout points across the scenic river valley.
