High school can be an exciting time — it’s all about exploring new interests, developing friendships, and finding your passion. But it can also be a stressful time, as the coursework gets more serious and kids often feel busy and overwhelmed. That’s where Ignite Centre for eLearning comes in! They have virtual summer school courses to help kids get ahead, upgrade, and smooth their way to high school graduation.

Students are embracing alternative forms of education that extend past the traditional brick-and-mortar options. Ignite Centre for eLearning can help re-engage your youth’s passion for learning, with engaging classes, a supportive community, and full accreditation by Alberta Education. Your teenager will learn the same content as their peers while enjoying a flexible learning environment tailored to their unique needs this summer.

Summer School

This summer, your teenager can enjoy the sunshine, get moving, and do summer school their way! Summer school at Ignite Centre runs from June 30 – July 25, 2025, and is not self-paced. Kids can complete summer school anywhere, but they need to be able to show up to the online class daily (with camera on!) and have time to complete the coursework.

If your teen is entering grade 10, this is the summer to get ready! Ignite Centre for eLearning will set your teen up for success with these courses:

Math 15 – Get high school ready!
PE 10 (5 credits) – Finish gym before high school begins
CALM – Classes are twice a week and the course is finished by July 18

Or the student who is going into grade 10 can choose the Grade 10 Combo Pack, with CALM and PE 10 or Math 15 and PE 10!

There is a huge range of virtual courses kids can take in summer school, from prep courses to diploma courses, core subjects and options. Teens can take CALM in the summer and get it out of the way. They can upgrade their math or finish English. Maybe they want to get extra credits with options like Art, Food Studies, Cosmetology, Forensics, and lots more. Are they active in the summer? They can earn credits for Phys. Ed, too!
