Kraay Family Farm is located just west of Lacombe, less than 2 hours from Calgary. It’s a great summer day trip destination, with food, entertainment, and excitement to last. The family-owned farm has become one of Alberta’s premier attractions, home to the Lacombe Corn Maze and over 50 activities and services. It’s open, beginning July 16, 2026, from Monday to Saturday every week in the summer. Beginning on September 5, 2026, it’s open every week from Wednesday to Saturday (plus Labour Day, Thanksgiving, and Truth and Reconciliation Day).
What to Expect
There are so many exciting things to do at the Kraay Family Farm. What will your family love the most?
Every year, the Lacombe Corn Maze has a special, elaborate theme. This 10-acre maze takes about an hour to complete, but if your little ones get tired, there are breaks to get out. There is also a kiddie maze, and kids will enjoy grabbing a ‘passport’ filled with questions to complete along the way.
Once you’re through the maze, visit the petting zoo and fall in love with the animals. Check out the piggy races and ride the mutton busters. Fly on the zipline, hang out in the Corn Barn, and burn some energy on the jumping pillows. Ride a giant swing or play miniature golf. Check out the brand-new calf-roping game or play one of the new giant yard games. There’s so much to do!
You’ll be hungry after all that playing. Plan a picnic and enjoy treats like ice cream, freshly roasted nuts, and mini donuts. Don’t forget to take advantage of the great family photo ops, especially as summer turns into fall, so you can freeze the moment! Strawberry Days start in July, sunflowers are in bloom for Sunflower Days in mid-August, and the pumpkins arrive in mid-September. But summer is a terrific time to visit to beat the crowds!
