For families, September is the real new year! It’s time to get back to school and activities and back to a positive schedule and routine. Improve your physical and mental health this September by getting back to health and fitness, with MNP Community & Sport Centre (formerly Repsol) programs for the whole family!
We all know that staying active is essential for a well-rounded, healthy life and this is especially true for kids who are forming habits and learning the physical literacy skills that will benefit them all their lives. Throwing, catching, running, jumping, and kicking are known as the basic movement skills and the benefits of these physical skills overflow into other areas of life. Exercise can also improve mental health, making it more important than ever during stressful times! While your child is getting active and enjoying fall programs, you could also be enjoying all the benefits of the MNP Community & Sport Centre. Check out the membership options to plan ahead.
MNP Community & Sport Centre is located near the downtown core. They offer free parking while you’re using the facility and it is a prime location for both serious sports training and family playtime. The multi-sport facility contains swimming pools and hot tubs, gymnasiums, cardio and weight training equipment, childcare, and a host of programs for the whole family.
This fall, check out all new adult programs including HIIT, BARRE and Yoga Strong, plus, returning favorites like kickboxing. They also have a new range of Triathlon programs geared for everyone from beginner to pro, including Learn 2 Tri. Their Active Living Program will keep preschoolers (ages 2 – 5) moving and learning, with crafts, games, and lots of movement fun. You’ll also find Active Energizers this fall, a 6-week inclusive program for children of all abilities now with more times available.
Of course, MNP Community & Sport Centre also has a wide variety of swimming lessons for the whole family. Discover the water with your infant or toddler in Parent and Tot Swim Lessons or send kids ages 3 and up into the Swim for Life program. If you’re not yet confident in the water, there are lessons for adults, too! MNP Community & Sport Centre also runs programs like SwimAbilities to support swimmers with special needs. Or kids can refine their skills and even continue into lifeguarding or join the Lifesaving Club.
No matter how your family chooses to be active this fall, consider MNP Community & Sport Centre. Embrace the routine, benefit from the activity, and appreciate your family playtime. Happy (School) New Year!
